The third body found in a search operation of six missing South Koreans in Taiwanese waters has been confirmed as one of the missing people.
According to Seoul’s Foreign Ministry, the body was retrieved in the waters southeast of Penghu, Taiwan at around 1 p.m. Saturday.
The ministry said on Sunday that the body was confirmed as one of the crew members of the ill-fated tugboat Kyoto 1, which went missing on Thursday.
All of the six crew members are South Korean nationals.
On Friday, two bodies were found and confirmed to be among the missing sailors.
South Korean and Taiwanese authorities are continuing search and rescue operations for the remaining three crew members.
