The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell 39-point-17 points, or one-point-43 percent, on Thursday, closing the day at two-thousand-695-point-86.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing 15-point-18 points, or one-point-61 percent, to close at 927-point-95.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened one-point-two won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-219-point-five won.
