The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell two-point-31 points, or zero-point-08 percent, on Tuesday, closing the day at two-thousand-997-point-21.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ rose, however, gaining six-point-43 points, or zero-point-62 percent, to close at one-thousand-35-point-46.
On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened one-point-five won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-179-point-nine won.
