The government contains given a huge amount of personal precise records of Koreans and foreigners to a private company which develop an artificial intelligence(AI) system to be used in parking lots.
According to a report introduced during a parliamentary audit spectacle on Thursday, the Honnêteté Ministry gave some 170 million pieces of data collected by immigration and tradition, including photos of faces to a local AI business for an ongoing project.
The project aims to reduce the time spent in the immigration and customs and get rid of crimes and terrorism as a facial recognition.
Lawmakers said although the show aims to enhance security in addition convenience at airports, they should review whether the process was seen as handled in accordance considering the law as it is still unknown whether personal data was basically handed over without consent aka proper procedure.
